Understanding Inventories posted using Facebook Marketplace Posting Tool (FBMP)

Facebook Marketplace Posting Tool or FBMP is designed to manage the inventories posted on Facebook Marketplace with minimal intervention. It automates the tedious work of typing the details and uploading the images manually for publishing the inventories on Facebook.  Our tool will attempt to publish or update inventories marked as INSTOCK  and whose visibility is turned ON. This means that you do not need to worry about inventories that are currently under conditioning or have been sold. Once the process is completed, the status of inventories sent to Facebook Marketplace is reflected in the FBMP section as shown the in the following screenshot.

FBMP Section

If this section is locked for you, please reach out to our customer care.

View of this section can be adjusted by shuffling or hiding the columns as per your requirements. Important columns for our purpose are as follows:
POST ID,  STOCK NO, POST STATUS and PUBLISHED DATE.

POST ID: This is the Page ID that is used to identify the Facebook Marketplace page for a particular inventory.
STOCK NO: This is the stock no of the inventory to identify the corresponding inventory.
PUBLISHED DATE: This is the date (UTC Time zone) when the inventory was published on Facebook Marketplace.

POST STATUS: This is the most important identifier of whether the inventory has been successfully published on Facebook Marketplace or if there were some errors.

There are several status available to identify the status of an inventory on Facebook Marketplace. These are as follows:
  1. NO STATUS OR EMPTY
  2. DRAFT
  3. PUBLISHED
  4. TO BE UPDATED
  5. UPDATED

i.  NO STATUS OR EMPTY
When a new inventory is created, it has no status or an empty status. Next time when you run the tool status will change to either DRAFT or PUBLISHED.
If incase the status doesn't change even after running the FBMP Tool, it signifies that something is restricting our tool from communicating with Facebook.
This is usually an antivirus or a firewall program. Try to disable them and run the tool again. If the problem persist, contact our customer service.

ii.  DRAFT
If the inventory is marked as DRAFT it indicates there was some issue with the inventory or the device from which you are trying to post. If the issue is with the inventory, it is due to the Make or Model you are trying to post on Facebook but it is unavailable on it. If the issue is with the device, it indicates that either there was network issue while posting the inventory or some application was exhausting the resources required by our tool. In rare case, Facebook itself will restrict the profile to limited inventories that can be posted via that account.

Inventories marked as DRAFT should be managed by you directly on Facebook Marketplace. Inventories are available on Facebook Marketplace as draft, you simply need to rectify the issues and click on Publish. Our tool will NOT try to modify or update such inventories due to the technical limitations.

iii.  PUBLISHED
If the inventory is marked as PUBLISHED, it signifies that the inventory was successfully published on Facebook Marketplace. Our tool will automatically manage inventories on your behalf. If you make any changes for such inventories such as Odometer or Pricing, it's status will change to TO BE UPDATED and on the next run of the tool it will update the changes that you have made for a particular inventory.

If POST ID is missing but status is PUBLISHED, it denotes there was some network issue or not enough resources. Please contact our customer service for assistance.
Currently we are able to publish upto 20 images on Facebook for each inventory.

iv.  TO BE UPDATED
Inventories which are marked as TO BE UPDATED are updated on Facebook Marketplace on the next run of FBMP Tool. Once the inventories are successfully updated,
they will be marked as UPDATED.

v. UPDATED
Inventories marked as UPDATED signifies that there are no more changes for a particular inventory available. Once a new changes are available for a particular inventory, they will be marked as TO BE UPDATED.

TIP: Do not delete the inventories manually from Facebook, simply mark them as SOLD on Facebook Marketplace Page and they will disappear from the Facebook Marketplace Listing.
